Experience Your Sanctuary with the Mets at Citi Field

The excitement at a baseball game can be immense and we’re not just talking about the action on the field – the walk-up music, the cheers and chants from the fans, the bright lights in the stadium, the vendors pitching their hot dogs and cotton candy in the stands, and the unforgettable organ music and sound effects. For many, this can be sensory overload. That’s why the New York Mets baseball team partnered with Nook to provide a calming refuge for people with sensory processing differences.

Sensory Nook was designed specifically with neurodiversity in mind and to help people cope with challenging environments. It is a highly inclusive and adaptable space particularly effective to address neurodiversity including autism, ADHD and dyslexia.

In fact, Nook is a Certified Autism Resource, awarded by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), a body that delivers the global standard for training and certification in the areas of autism and other cognitive disorders.

Some features that can be added to a Sensory Nook include play-grade vinyl upholstery, mirrored wall panel, fiber optic strands, interactive rhapsody panel and more. And Sensory Nook is easy to move, so fans can contact customer service ahead of time to have it placed conveniently near their seats.

So, what do you say? Take me out to the ball game!
