The (Not So) Secret Study Spot at Boyden Library
About 40 minutes South of Boston, Boyden Library, has introduced three Nook Solo pods, giving patrons a new way to enjoy quiet, focused, and sensory-friendly space. Located on the Mezzanine Level close to the Administrative offices, the pods have already become a popular feature, whether for catching up on reading, studying for an exam, or simply taking a break from the bustle of daily life.
The Nook Solo is designed to provide calm and comfort in public spaces, and Boyden Library has embraced that mission wholeheartedly. By offering pods that anyone can step into, the library demonstrates how simple design choices can transform the visitor experience. Students have found them especially useful for a quiet study space, while remote workers appreciate having a private, supportive spot to focus.
“The Nook Solos have been an incredible addition to Boyden Library,” said Libby O’Neill, Library Director at Boyden Library. “They are quite popular, and our patrons love using them to study, have a quiet space to work, or use them for privacy to do a Zoom meeting.”
We are also thrilled to announce that Boyden Library is the very first member of our new Nook Neighborhood. This program is designed to give people the chance to experience Nook in person in their own communities. Boyden Library serves as a real-world showcase and anyone curious about Nooks, whether for a school, office, library, or other public settings, can visit Boyden during regular hours, step inside, and see the difference for themselves.
“We‘re thrilled to have Boyden Library as the very first member of the Nook Neighborhood,” said Liz Bateman Grove, at Nook USA. “Their commitment to creating welcoming spaces shows how libraries can lead the way in building more inclusive communities.”
For us at Nook, Boyden Library represents exactly what we believe in: creating environments where everyone can feel comfortable, supported, and included. It’s exciting to see a community space so committed to expanding access to inclusive design. If you are in the Foxborough, Massachusetts area, we invite you to stop by Boyden Library, and experience Nook Pods in person.
